PHYSICAL EXERCISE IN ONCOLOGY PATIENTS: CLINICAL BENEFITS, IMPACT ON QUALITY OF LIFE, AND ROLE IN THE THERAPEUTIC PATH

It is with great pleasure that I announce a new video conference from Glioblastoma.IT ODV, the third of 2026, dedicated to a highly topical topic: physical exercise in cancer patients. Exercise is revolutionizing the approach to cancer patients, expanding the concept of integrated oncology. The topic is increasingly being addressed in recent scientific literature, including in neuro-oncology, and, as is already the case abroad, it is hoped that it will gradually be prescribed as a true supportive therapy in the treatment process.

The event will feature Dr. Lorella Turroni, a physiatrist and Medical Director of the Prime Center – Integrated Oncology Rehabilitation Center at the Romagna Oncology Institute in Cesena. She has extensive experience in physiatry, rehabilitation, and integrated oncology. Dr. Turroni specializes in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and holds a Level II Master’s Degree in Integrated Oncology. Mattia Pirani, oncology trainer at the Prime Center – Integrated Oncology Rehabilitation Center of the Romagna Oncology Institute in Cesena, will also be speaking. Mattia Pirani has specific training in exercise science, health, and physical activity, with a thesis on exercise in cancer patients. He also has experience designing and supervising exercise and rehabilitation programs for cancer patients, including in the context of scientific studies.

The video conference will take place on Tuesday, May 26th at 7:00 PM. The event will follow the usual format: it will open with a brief presentation of the volunteer organization Glioblastoma.IT ODV and its activities, followed by presentations by the speakers, and will conclude, as usual, with a question-and-answer session open to all participants.
