“Pesca del Cuore” 2026: €5,820 of Solidarity, Heartfelt Thanks to Everyone

The fifteenth edition of the trout fishing competition brought together sport, conviviality, and generosity. The proceeds were divided equally between the initiatives supported by Amici di Federico ODV and Glioblastoma.IT ODV.

There are days when the most important result is not measured on the scales, but in a community’s ability to come together and transform enjoyment into concrete support. On Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the “La Draga” pond in Cortona di Ruda, the fifteenth edition of “Pesca del Cuore” took place. The trout fishing competition was organized by the Associazione Pescatori Sportivi di Ruda, with the patronage of the Municipality of Ruda.

It was a day of outdoor sport, conviviality, and solidarity, attended by 65 adult anglers and 15 young “pierini”, accompanied by a large and warm-hearted crowd. In the senior category, Gianfranco De Giusti took first place with a total catch of 1.5 kilograms of trout. Among the under-14s, Danilo Lenarduzzi reached the top step of the podium. Our congratulations go to both of them, as well as to all the participants: those who competed with passion, those who approached this tradition for the first time, and the youngest participants, who represent the future of an event capable of renewing itself without losing its spirit. The competition, however, was only one part of the celebration. After the weighing and award ceremony, anglers, families, and supporters gathered around the tables to share a wonderful day and enjoy the dishes prepared by the volunteers: calamarata pasta, grilled meat and fish, fried dishes, frico, and polenta.

The generosity of those who participated, donated, cooked, and worked behind the scenes made it possible to raise a total of €5,820. The amount was divided equally between the two beneficiary organizations. The final result and the allocation of the funds were announced in the final report by Amici di Federico ODV.

Glioblastoma.IT ODV will use the entire €2,910 received for the “Speranza e Coraggio” (“Hope and Courage”)project, the free online psychological support service for people affected by glioblastoma and other high-grade brain tumors, as well as their families and caregivers. The project is producing increasingly encouraging results. For this reason, we want to consolidate it and make it permanent, so that psychological support can be available free of charge throughout Italy and from the moment of diagnosis. Behind every session there is a person, a family, and a story that deserves to be heard. There are fears that can finally be shared, questions that find a protected space, and caregivers who discover that they do not have to face everything alone. The donation generated by “Pesca del Cuore” is therefore not merely a figure. It will become time devoted to listening, professional support, and concrete human closeness.

As Glioblastoma.IT ODV, we wish to express our deepest gratitude to the Associazione Pescatori Sportivi di Ruda, which organized the event, and to the Municipality of Ruda, which granted its patronage. We thank:

• the 65 adult anglers and the 15 young participants registered for the competition;
• everyone who also took part as a supporter and, why not, as an enthusiastic taster;
• the Ruda branch of Credifriuli;
• the Gruppo Alpini di Ruda, which handled the assembly and dismantling of the marquee;
• Azienda Agricola Agriturismo Morsut Luca, which donated 200 kilograms of trout;
• all the friends who worked at the food stand and the cash desk;
• the cooks responsible for grilling the meat and fish and preparing the fried dishes;
• the “Trio Calamarata” and the “Trio Sardella”;
• the Gruppo Tutela Antica Polenta di Fauglis, for the frico and polenta;
• the companies that provided products for the food stand and prizes for the raffle;
• all the volunteers who, often far from the spotlight, donated their time, energy, and skills;
• every person who chose to be there and contribute.

To everyone who held a fishing rod, cooked, served, set up tables, collected registrations, provided prizes, tasted the dishes, or simply made a donation, we offer our sincere thanks. “True wealth is not measured; it is given”: the spirit of this day is captured in these few words. Making “Speranza e Coraggio” (“Hope and Courage”) permanent is an ambitious goal, but initiatives such as this demonstrate that when a community chooses to come together, a project can take root and continue helping people and families over time.

Every contribution counts. Every gesture can become an act of listening. Every donation can help someone feel less alone.
