What is Speranza e Coraggio?
The Speranza e Coraggio project is implemented by Glioblastoma.IT ODV with the extraordinary contribution of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, pursuant to Regional Law No. 8/2024, Article 8, paragraphs 37-39.
The goal of Speranza e Coraggiois to make psychological support more accessible for people affected by glioblastoma and other high-grade brain tumors by offering a free, online, and qualified service to patients, families, and caregivers.
Who is the service for?
The service is intended for:
- glioblastoma patients;
- patients with other high-grade brain tumors;
- family members;
- caregivers;
- people who assist or accompany a loved one through their illness.
Is the service free?
Yes. The service is completely free for patients, family members, and caregivers.
Where do the consultations take place?
Consultations are conducted online, via Google Meet, after registering on the Glioblastoma Navigator platform.
Can I access the service if I’m a family member or caregiver?
Yes. The service is designed not only for patients, but also for family members and caregivers.
Those who support a loved one through their illness may experience moments of intense fatigue, worry, and emotional overload. For this reason, they may request support.
Who provides the psychological support?
The sessions are delivered by volunteer psychologists and psychotherapists with specific expertise in psycho-oncology and neuropsychology who have successfully completed specialized training in brain tumors.
Does the service replace medical treatment?
No. The service does not replace ongoing medical, oncology, or psychological care, but complements it to provide greater strength and courage to face the treatment journey.
Speranza e Coraggio project offers additional psychological support, designed to support patients, family members, and caregivers on an emotional and relational level.
How can I access the service?
To access the service, you must:
- enter the Glioblastoma Navigator platform;
- register;
- follow the instructions to request a psychological support session;
- conduct the online consultation via Google Meet.
Do I need to install anything?
Consultations are conducted via Google Meet. In many cases, it is possible to connect directly via a link from a computer, tablet, or smartphone.
Is the service available throughout Italy?
Yes. The service is online and accessible nationwide even if occasionally we can offer it in english too.
When might it be helpful to ask for support?
It can be helpful to ask for support when you are experiencing fear, uncertainty, sadness, fatigue, loneliness, difficulty communicating with your family, or overload related to the treatment journey.
Asking for help doesn’t mean being weak. It means taking care of yourself.
How is data handled?
The platform is designed to protect user privacy and collect only the information necessary to provide the service. The data entered is processed in accordance with applicable regulations and may be used anonymously and in aggregate form for analysis, research, and service improvement.

How can I publicize the Speranza e Coraggio project?
A very simple way is to share the key information by printing this poster and making it available to treatment centers, even those that already provide some form of support because they aren’t always able to help everyone who needs it or because they don’t offer online support.
