VIDEO CONFERENCE “MENINGIOMAS, LOW-GRADE GLIOMAS, AND GLIOBLASTOMA: NEWS IN THERAPEUTICS”
The thirteenth conference of the volunteer organization Glioblastoma.IT ODV, the second of 2025, was a success. Approximately 40 people attended through various channels. It was held in Italian. The speaker was Dr. Giuseppe Lombardi, a medical oncologist specializing in brain tumors who currently works at the Veneto Oncology Institute (IOV) in Padua as head of the Neuro-Oncology Unit. Dr. Lombardi focuses on the medical treatment of cancer patients, particularly those with brain tumors. He conducts clinical and translational research on biomarkers and new therapies for brain gliomas. He is the Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator in over 20 clinical trials on brain tumors and hepatocellular carcinoma. In 2019, Dr. Lombardi received the “Marco Venturini” Award as best young Italian oncologist for the REGOMA study on the efficacy of regorafenib in patients with recurrent glioblastoma. He is a member of AIOM, EORTC Brain Tumors, AINO, ASCO, EANO, and ESMO, and has authored over 120 scientific publications and spoken at numerous international conferences. Dr. Lombardi explained to us, in language that even non-specialists can understand, the latest developments in therapies and clinical trials regarding VIO in the treatment of high-grade brain tumors such as glioblastoma, as well as meningiomas and low-grade gliomas. We thank all participants and are confident that in the coming days, many patients, caregivers, and specialists will be able to watch the video conference. The question-and-answer session shed light on some aspects of interest to participants. For ease of access, we have included the recording below for those who were unable to attend.

In the hope that more and more people will become long-term survivors and that sooner or later we will be able to make high-grade gliomas curable, to all of you, happy viewing!
