GLIOBLASTOMA NAVIGATOR: THE NEW VERSION OF THE PLATFORM FOR PATIENTS, CAREGIVERS, AND SPECIALISTS IS NOW ONLINE
We are happy to announce that, after months of work and testing, the new version of the Glioblastoma Navigator platform is finally online. It was developed by Glioblastoma.IT ODV in collaboration with PLUS to support patients, caregivers, and specialists through the challenging journey of high-grade brain tumors, particularly glioblastoma.
The Navigator was created as an innovative platform based on the concept of a “super mind“: a system that connects patients, caregivers, specialists, and intelligent systems, because addressing a complex problem like glioblastoma requires more than just a single approach; it requires the combined strength of all.
This new version of the platform is the result of reflections developed over the past few months. We analyzed the usability experience of the previous version, learning a lot from its limitations and from user feedback. This work has allowed us to offer a more robust, intuitive, and truly useful platform today.
Users who had already entered information into the old platform have been automatically migrated and will soon receive an email with instructions for activating their account. For security reasons, it will be necessary to use the password recovery procedure upon first access.
Users who registered without ever entering any information will need to register again if interested. All accounts will be activated manually, ensuring the reliability and security of the service.
It is essential that each user, upon registration, read and accept the Terms and Conditions of Use, which form the basis for informed and correct use of the platform.
Glioblastoma Navigator, in its new version, is completely free, as in the previous version, and offers numerous tools:
- Entering and managing clinical data anonymously and securely;
- Personalized suggestions, such as the nearest specialized centers or active clinical trials;
- The Gliobot chatbot, based on artificial intelligence, provides support information and immediate assistance on medical terms, treatment options, and basic emotional issues;
- access to specialized support services, such as psychological or counseling, with qualified professionals.
- The information entered by users will be used, anonymously and in aggregate form, to generate statistical data on different treatment options. In this way, the platform also becomes a sort of virtual trial, capable of uncovering correlations and insights useful for improving future treatments.
The Glioblastoma Navigator will also be the platform used, starting in October, for the “Speranza e Coraggio” project: an initiative that will allow patients, family members, and caregivers to receive free support from selected psycho-oncologists and psychotherapists specifically trained in brain tumors and related issues.
The support sessions will be delivered remotely, in a simple and accessible manner, to offer quality psychological support at a time when closeness and understanding are crucial.
Glioblastoma Navigator, in its new version, is not just a technological tool, but a true community platform that works together:
- Patients and caregivers can find information, tools, and support;
- Specialists can contribute their expertise, access aggregated data, and collaborate on research;
- The platform connects all stakeholders, leveraging hyperconnectivity to improve available knowledge and support.
- With this new version of the platform, our Volunteer Organization is taking a decisive step toward a future where technology, expertise, and humanity intertwine to provide hope, courage, and concrete tools to those facing glioblastoma.
The invitation is open to everyone: patients, caregivers, and specialists. Registration is simple, free, and secure. Together, we can make a difference. While the system is simple and intuitive to use, we are preparing a series of tutorials and simple instructions that will make it even more accessible. We look forward to seeing you there.
Finally, this new version is dedicated to Mattia Marchiò, who sadly passed away last week after battling unmethylated glioblastoma with hope and courage. Mattia participated in several of our initiatives, and at one of them, he casually showed up with the Optune device he was wearing to slow the progression of the disease, embodying in such a human way the true spirit of the “Speranza e Coraggio” project. Thank you, Mattia, we love you!
Nooo, mi dispiace tantissimo per Mattia. Ci eravamo sentiti e scambiati informazioni. Condoglianze alla famiglia
